Our Team

JODIE B.
Jodie graduated as an AHT from Lakeland College in 2005 and has been working at the Crestwood Veterinary Centre ever since. She has recently become the clinic's office manager, but continues to do her regular duties as an Animal Health Technician as well. She has two cats named Gradie and Bean, and two dogs named Willow and Pippin.

CHERYL
Cheryl graduated from Lakeland College with her AHT designation in 1989. She has been a member of the Crestwood Veterinary Centre team for the last seven years. She is married to Darvin and they have 2 children. They also have two dogs named Jazz and Goose, a cat named Doby and an iguana named Iggy.

DEANNA
Deanna started working at Crestwood as a student and stayed on when she graduated from NAIT in 1996. She married her childhood sweetheart Deni and they have two small children and a Goldendoodle named Pixie.

MANDY
Mandy started working at Crestwood in 2005 as a kennel attendant. She then decided to try her hand at becoming an AHT and graduated from NAIT in 2008. Mandy currently works part time at the clinic and takes full time courses at the U of A in hopes of one day becoming a veterinarian. She still lives at home with her family and 2 cats, Joey and Gregory.

NANETTE
Nanette decided to make a career change to allow her to do something she really loved, and graduated from NAIT as an AHT in 2001. She is married to Howi, and they have a love affair with Rhodesian Ridgebacks. The couple have two, named Kisura and Malaika. They also share their acreage home with a cat named Ragnell.

PENNY

Penny fell in love with Crestwood Veterinary Centre after her five week placement as an AHT practicum student in 2007. She continued to work with the Crestwood team as an Industry Representative for a time, then returned as a full time Registered Animal Health Technician in September, 2009. Penny serves on the Board of Directors for Dogs with Wings Assistance Dog Society where, "Everyday heroes make dreams take flight". Other passions include equine massage, dressage, travel and spending time with her two dogs Duke and Emmy.

JESSICA L.

Jessica graduated from NAIT as an Animal Health Technician in 2007 and came to Crestwood shortly after. She has always had a special interest in canine behavior and owns two wonderful Golden Retrievers named Oliver and Cooper. Jessica is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and offers individual training for obedience and solving problem behaviors.

BERKLEY

Berkley is a recent graduate from NAIT's AHT program and started working at Crestwood in January, 2010. She currently lives at home with her family and hopes to soon find a pet to call her own. In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding, traveling and doing volunteer work at the local Valley Zoo.

LEANNA

Leanna has been an AHT at the clinic since January, 2008. She shares her home with Gwen, Vogue and Cassius her three pugs. Leanna spends her free time showing her pugs and working on her own pug breeding program.

GAIL
Gail has been a receptionist at the clinic since 1991. She works part time and spends the rest of her time traveling with her husband Lowell. They have two grown up sons and one lovely daughter-in-law. Gail has a black lab named Zoe and a horse named Gem.

JODI P.
Jodi has been a part time receptionist since 2002. With 3 boys involved in sports and a husband who works out of the province, it is amazing that she has time for anything else. In addition to the boys' activities, Jodi plays organized ball, and somehow manages to find time to do crafts and care for the menagerie of pets that she has at home.

KAREN
Karen and Jodi are related by marriage, and boys and sports seem to go with the Platten name. Karen and her husband Kelly also have 3 boys who are involved in hockey, soccer, football and baseball. Karen and Kelly are golfers in the summer and curlers in the winter. They have a much smaller animal family, lavishing all their attention on their golden retriever Lexis and their border collie Tiko.

JOANNE
Joanne has been at Crestwood since 1995. She has two grown up children and lives on an acreage with her dog named Monster. She also has 2 cats named Barnac and Tiger. Joanne enjoys riding, golfing, swimming and traveling.

PAT

Pat has been a member of the receptionist team at Crestwood since the beginning of 2008, but she has been a veterinary clinic receptionist for almost 30 years. The 2 dogs pictured here are named Raven and Lily, and the cat's name is Annie. These guys are actually only a small portion of Pat's animal family.

JESSICA J.

Jessica has been a member of the reception team since August, 2009. She started with Crestwood shortly after graduating from the Veterinary Administrative Assistant program at NAIT. She is seen here with her dog, Ollie. Jessica enjoys drawing and playing with her dog in her spare time.

ASHLEIGH

Ashleigh grew up in west Edmonton and joined the Crestwood team in October 2009. She has a BSc in biology from the University of Alberta and hopes to pursue futher education in the veterinary field. She is a skilled baker, enjoys playing soccer with her longtime team and is a voracious reader. Ashleigh loves to cuddle with her two cats, Cleo and Noelle as well as caring for her fish, Fish.

LALENA

Lalena and her toy poodle Bailey moved from Newfoundland to Alberta in 2006.  She graduated with a degree in Animal Sciences in 1999 and became a certified pet groomer in 2005.  Lalena joined the Crestwood team in 2008 and even though she specialized in large animal health, she has come to love companion animals. Lalena and Bailey live with Stephanie, a two year old Rottweiler and two rescue cats named Daisy and Lily.
